Yes, an LCA  uniform including shirts and outerwear for the purpose of unity and community. Although the uniform is simple and does not include all garments, modesty and discretion are expected. The uniform is to be worn for each school day and on Legacy field trips.

Legacy Community Academy is Accredited with Quality  through the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC). This is the highest level of accreditation granted to a non-traditional education center in the state of Georgia.  This classification is granted to a center that has involved its faculty and staff in a study of the GAC principles and has provided the Commission with satisfactory documentation that all principles required for Accredited with Quality status have been met. This level of accreditation is recognized and accepted by all colleges, universities, and NCAA Clearinghouse.  The Accredited with Quality status also allows Legacy students who meet the academic requirements to qualify for the Georgia HOPE scholarship immediately upon graduation.  For more information about GAC, please visit the GAC website.  Legacy is listed under non-traditional education centers.

LCA has been assigned the Level I SAT Attending Institution code number 110080. This Level I code allows LCA to receive students' SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PLAN, or ACT scores. Students, please use this number when registering for either the SAT Program or the ACT Assessment.  If you do not enter the correct code number, copies of their score report will not be sent to you.

Yes, we offer standardized testing in the fall and spring and it is included in full-time tuition.  We partner with NWEA and use the Measures Of Academic Progress (MAP) test to benchmark learning and chart growth.

Students are responsible to bring their own lunches, which are to be eaten on the premises during their designated lunch break. LCA does not offer a daily hot lunch option for students.  

We believe that God is the Creator of all things; therefore our science curriculum is creation-based.  We do, however, address evolution in our upper school science classes.

The state of Georgia requires that all students complete a total of 23 units for graduation. 

  • 4 units of English  
  • 4 units of Science
  • 4 units of Mathematics  
  • 3 units of Social Studies  
  • At least 3 units required from the following: Foreign Language*, CTAE, and/or Fine Arts. 
  • At least 4 additional electives  
  • 1 health/physical education course

* Students planning to enter or transfer into a University System of Georgia institution must take two units of the same foreign language.

CORE HUMANITIES:  Due to the holistic alignment of vision, mission, and core values of LCA we have chosen a variety of curriculum for our core language arts, social studies, and Bible curriculum that systematically aligns with our L.I.F.E. Prep scope and sequence.  We believe the curriculum we have prayerfully chosen and subsequently written curriculum guides, fulfills the first part of our mission, which is to partner with the family by providing high academic curriculum filtered through a Biblical Worldview, all the while sustaining an affordable price.  Classic literature and curriculum such as A Beka, Shurley English, The Institute for Excellence in Writing,  Progeny Press literature studies, and various spelling/vocabulary are some of the curriculums that are utilized.

Lower School:  A combination of Foss Science Curriculum, and supplemental books and labs written by Legacy staff are used to teach science.
Upper School:  Curriculum from Foss Science and Apologia Science curriculum are used along with a variety of supplements created by the LCA Science Team.

K - Calculus
A combination of Singapore Math, Bob Jones and Pearson Math are some of the publishers used throughout K - 12th grade. 
* Supplemental material may be suggested for children who would benefit from either enrichment or repetition.

Yes, LCA may accept students with learning disabilities (IEP, 504, accommodations however, LCA is not equipped to modify learning for students with diagnosed learning disabilities.  The academy will evaluate on an individual basis any learning disability accommodations that may be provided for enrolled students who have been diagnosed by a licensed psychologist/psychiatrist.
